Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This is a one-person consulting site. It collects very little, sells nothing to anyone, and everything below describes what actually happens rather than what a generic template would say.

Who is responsible

This site is operated by Damilare Babalola, an independent marketing automation consultant based in Lagos, Nigeria. For anything on this page, write to damidigitalmarket@gmail.com.

What gets collected

Only when you choose to send it

  • Contact form — your name, email address, the project type you pick, and your message.
  • Newsletter — your email address.
  • Free resource downloads — your name and email address.
  • Live chat — whatever you type into the chat widget, plus any name or email you give it.

Collected automatically

  • Analytics — page views, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived. Only after you accept the cookie banner. IP addresses are anonymised.
  • Submission context — when you send a form, the browser you used and the page you came from are stored alongside it, to help filter spam.

Not collected: payment details (booking and invoicing happen on third-party platforms), and no account is ever created for you on this site.

Why, and on what basis

DataPurposeLegal basis
Contact form Reply to your enquiry and scope potential work Your request / steps before a contract
Newsletter email Send occasional articles and updates Your consent
Resource download Deliver the file and follow up once Your consent
Analytics Understand which pages are useful Your consent, via the cookie banner
Live chat Answer questions in real time Your request

Cookies and local storage

No analytics cookie is set until you press Accept on the banner. If you decline, that choice is remembered and no tracking script ever loads.

  • Theme preference — remembers whether you chose dark or light mode. Stored in your browser only.
  • Cookie choice — remembers your accept/decline answer so you are not asked again.
  • Content cache — a copy of the site's own text is kept locally so pages load instantly on your next visit. It contains no personal data.
  • Google Analytics — set only after consent. Used to count visits and see which pages get read.
  • Live chat — the chat widget sets its own cookie so a conversation survives a page refresh.

To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

Services used

A handful of third parties process data on this site's behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase — stores the site's content and any form submissions.
  • Google Analytics — visitor statistics, loaded only after consent.
  • Web3Forms — delivers form submissions to my inbox.
  • Tawk.to — the live chat widget.
  • Cal.com — booking calls. Anything you enter there is handled by Cal.com.
  • Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used across the site.

Some of these operate servers outside Nigeria, so your data may be processed abroad under the standard safeguards those providers publish. Your data is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers.

How long it is kept

  • Enquiries — kept while a conversation or project is active, and for up to two years afterwards for tax and reference purposes.
  • Newsletter — until you unsubscribe. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
  • Analytics — retained on Google's default schedule, currently 14 months.
  • Chat transcripts — kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

Under Nigeria's Data Protection Act and, where it applies to you, the GDPR, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw consent at any time, or object to how it is being used.

Email damidigitalmarket@gmail.com and say what you want done. No forms, no process — I will confirm within 30 days, usually far sooner. If you ask for deletion, it is deleted; I will only keep what an invoicing or legal obligation requires.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Stored submissions sit behind authentication rules that allow the public to read published site content but restrict everything else to my own admin account. No system is perfect, so please do not send passwords, API keys, or client credentials through the contact form — I will set up a proper secure channel once we start working together.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. If a child's data has ended up here by accident, tell me and I will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top will change and the cookie banner will reappear where consent is involved.
